Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Caryon operates this website and provides AI-assisted CV analysis, ATS optimisation, job matching, and cover-letter generation. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it.

2. Data we collect

• Account data — name, email, password hash, role (Job Seeker / Recruiter), subscription tier.
• CV content — files you upload, the extracted text, and any AI-generated analyses linked to them.
• Job postings — title, description, requirements, salary range that recruiters publish.
• Usage records — counts of AI operations per month, used to enforce plan quotas.
• Operational data — IP address, browser, timestamps, error logs.

3. AI processing

When you run an AI feature, the relevant text (your CV, a job description) is sent to the AI provider configured in this instance. Two modes are supported:

• Local (Ollama) — the AI runs on the same server as this app. Your data never leaves the host.
• Claude (Anthropic) — text is sent to Anthropic's enterprise API. Anthropic does not use the data to train models. See Anthropic's privacy policy.

4. What we never do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not show your CV to recruiters until you explicitly apply to a role.
• We do not train AI models on your data.

5. Your rights

You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing the contact address in the footer. We respond within 30 days, as required by GDPR / equivalent legislation.

6. Cookies

We use strictly-necessary cookies for authentication (cookie-based session) and a localization cookie that stores your language choice. We do not use third-party analytics by default.

7. Data retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. After deletion, personal data is purged within 30 days; aggregated, anonymized usage stats may be retained.

8. Changes

We will notify users by email at least 14 days before any material change to this policy.
